Joy and a smile.
Phil 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always (Delight, take pleasure in Him); again, I will say rejoice!”
God instructed me to pack joy and a smile. I think to myself how ironic, because we all wear masks to protect ourselves from the COVID 19 virus. It covers our smile so our smile must now reach our eyes for the person to see it. Suddenly the saying: “Your eyes are the window to your soul” came to mind. It is day 52 of the lockdown. By now our new normal is wearing masks whenever we leave our houses.
What does my window look like? Are they clear and inviting people to come and peak to see what is inside or are they dirty?
I started to search my soul and found a lot of burdens wearing me down. Lord help me to deal with this and flush it out of my system with your joy.
The Lord reminded me to think of everything I am thankful for.
Breath!!! I became aware of every breath I breathed underneath this mask and realised that breathing say I am still alive. God breathe His breath in our lungs when we are born and the way we leave earth is when we blow out our last breath. Breathing is a vital part of our living and this disease comes and literally and figuratively strips us of that. Thanks for your breath!!!! My eyes view the most precious spoils from God’s beautiful creation every day. Ears to hear the music and heartbeat of our loved ones. The ability to think and reason. The ability to walk every day and admire the wonders of nature. Hands to hold and love the people around us. Words to encourage, praise and uplift those who feel unloved and unworthy. I can feel how much lighter my soul feels with every bit of thankfulness. My eyes become clearer and I feel a light shining through my windows. I want people to find hope, see joy experience love and accept when they look out my window. I want them to come back for more and each time find something they need from the store of my soul. This is a responsible task which means that I would need to keep my tank full with the goodness of God so others can come and take what they need.
Only God can fill my tank and that will mean spending time in His presence and praying. Use me God to help people see Your goodness every time they look in my eyes.
Matt 6:22 “ The eye is the lamp of the body; so if your eye is clear [spiritually perceptive], your whole body will be full of light [ benefiting from God’s precepts].
